In light of these endeavors, I won't likely be posting much art in the next several weeks, as my current task is a bit daunting, and ought to be finished as soon as possible. As little as I'm sure the majority of you care, I only wished to make such a thing clear.
However, my reasons for posting this journal are twofold. I don't have a great deal of experience when it comes to portfolios, as such, am having a bit of a time trying to choose the ideal pieces. If any of you can spare the time to look through both my gallery and scrapbook to name me a few pieces which you (a) think should absolutely NOT be included, or (b) think might be a fine choice for inclusion, I'd greatly appreciate it.
My, I seem to be posting a lot of journal entries on here. I'm practically a blogger.
Anyway, thank you for your time if you got this far, and my best regards to you all.

Acrylic wash with colored pencil overlay is a great approach.

Especially "Married to a Swan," "Donkey Rider," "Forgotten Dream," and "Beautiful Lonely People." There are numerous other great pieces- too many to name all, in my opinion.
And that's all for now. Hopefully there's something in there that you like.

Let's start with my personal favorite.
~brazjol An excellent artist. Check out his "Inventions" series and his set of micro-organisms. He has vision and technical skill.
~Bonom There's an appealing pop art quality to this person's works, which are unique examples of graphic design abilities.
*enframed I realize that this is a stock account, but the photography and the subjects are simply breathtaking. I've used this person's works to sketch various landscapes for practice.
~natdia Where to begin? Simply amazing photography and photo manipulation. Her works never cease to amaze. Whether the tone is whimsical and charming like in "Piraterie," or starkly macabre, as in "Le Dimanche," she is an artist of astounding skill.
~maurillo Great photography with a gritty, urban edge.
Hmm. I think that those are the only ones I'll post for now- I have to same some for later sessions of deviant sharing.
Until then!
I never thought that sperm could look so beautiful...
And I was completely swept away by natdia's work, especially "les soldes" and various portraits... I've been looking for a good photomanipulator. Rather than looking like a bunch of pasted together pieces of photos, her photomanips aren't overdone. They seem so surreal, yet they have a certain control in them that prevents them from appearing "processed." Additionally, she has some amazing photos.
~edelias I think that you would like work by edelias a lot. It also has a bit of a pop art quality to it. A lot of her work is bizarrely grotesque, including some absolutely amazing sculptures- check out "Zombie Jam" and "deerchk" in addition to some other great drawings and stuff.
And I'm slightly hurt (no I'm not), you never replied to my lovely penorific comment.

I was especially attracted to "Zombie Jam" and "Fleabitten."
The skill of this artist is amazing- the ability to capture a bloody mouth in a piece of toast and somehow capture both humor and horror in a single piece. I don't have a new deviant for you right now, but I will have one within 24 hours! Art school is keeping me busy. Very busy.
Have you started Mount Holyoke yet, Baby? (Okay, that was a lame reference.) But seriously, how's school?
No, I have not replied to your "penorific" comment. I apologize... I actually had a similar experience once with deviantart, and it was a traumatizing event; I suppose I just didn't want to revisit it. Honestly, where do they get these people?
Yay! I got the reference! However, I will not be studying economics of underdeveloped countries.
Sadly, I have not started school yet, because MHC starts really late. I leave this Saturday, orientation is on Sunday, and classes start on the 9th (Wednesday).
Perhaps even more unfortunate than the fact that MHC starts so late is that my mother has decided that since her new job start has been pushed later, my parents will be staying up there an extra day. Until Tuesday, to be specific. Why? I do not know. I think it may be part of my mom's secret "must torture child that is leaving plan." She has been carrying out this plan as of late, at home.
And who's to say that a grainy photographic close-up of a male member and its subsidiaries is not art? Clearly you are missing the beauty of the form.
Ew, even though I am joking, I grossed myself out.
